Welcome aboard “Our Nauti Time”!!

Once we decided to tackle part of the Great Loop, we realized that our 26 foot cabin cruiser was certainly too small to live on for several months.  So, the search began!!  Most of you are aware that this is exactly what Jim loves to do…..SHOP and NEGOTIATE.  I was thinking that he would be showing me boats that were about 34 feet.  Yes, I was completely wrong!!!  Next thing I knew we were taking a little road trip to LaCrosse, WI just to look at this beauty.  She is a 43 foot Silverton Yacht that we ended up purchasing in the fall of 2020.  This past spring we drove her to Treasure Island Casino Marina where we spent a great deal of time this summer.  It has been a huge learning experience going from 1 engine to 2 and having a control panel taller than our youngest grandchild.  We were so lucky to have made many wonderful new friends on B Dock and shared unforgettable memories.  It was sad to say goodbye for the season, however everyone is invited to join us as we cruise south.  Our departure has been delayed a bit as the boat is undergoing repairs.  We hope to disembark in a few days.  Stay tuned as I will let everyone know when we are on the water heading south.

I received your message about your new adventures and how to find you Blog. I checked it out and I see many things have changed. It's so awesome to here you folks are fulfilling your dream or better known as the "Bucket List". I've always wanted to sell everything and buy a larger boat and be a "Cruiser" since I am already a USCG Captain. (I may still do it). I then would become a You Tuber, filming my adventures for as many interested followers as I could.

I hope you have the winds behind you and the sun shining on you for your newly found adventure! I'm truly jealous! Please post a lot as I will be following your adventure and living/vacationing precariously through you fine folks! Take care and be safe! Perhaps I should do a ride along and teach you some nautical terms and procedures?? LOL! Phil Kerber
