Friday, October 29, 2021 (Clifton, TN - Pickwick, MS (Safe Harbor Aqua Yacht Marina)

OH MY GOD WILL IT EVER STOP RAINING!!!!!!!  We got underway early as there is no telling how long it will take to get through the Pickwick Lock and Dam which is just north of our next stopping point.  It has been chilly (in the 50’s) and we feel like we are back in Minnesota.  There was not a lot to see until we got to Savannah, TN.  The homes along the water were beautiful and spacious.  (None of my pictures are very clear today with the rain and fog).

Take a look at this beauty that passed us.  It is the “Mimi” which is the Hubbard Broadcasting yacht, still owned by Stanley Hubbard.  It’s 130 feet valued at $5 million.  Our boat next to it looks like it’s dingy.  LOL!!!!

More awesome homes……

Did you notice the middle picture?  It looked like they have already strung Christmas decorations on the fence.  Now that’s planning ahead…..

Just a picture of several boats ahead of us as we are approaching the Pickwick Lock and Dam.  This lock was a deep one again and we shared it with approximately 30 other boats.  I say approximately because several were little boats hidden by my view around the bigger boats.  Everyone scrambles to get in as it takes awhile for it to empty and fill.

Now that the lock is behind us we know that the marina is just ahead.  We are booked to stay at the Safe Harbor Aqua Yacht Marina until Tuesday morning but I have a hunch that will change.  Not much to do within walking distance but using the courtesy van will open us up to tour the Shiloh Battle Field and the Tennessee River Museum.

By the way, it’s hard to believe that we are in Mississippi already.  But there is a long way to go in Alabama…  I think that it’s “docktail” time.
