Saturday - Monday (October 16-18, 2021) Grafton - Alton, IL)

As we wait for Monday to see about the bow thruster we are still enjoying Grafton.  Unfortunately in the early hours of Sunday, Jim experienced what appeared to be vertigo, so he stayed on the couch all day watching football.  However come Monday morning he was ready to go.  The sunrise was absolutely beautiful as we left the marina.

After spending several hours at St.Louis Yacht Club, part of the bow thruster was fixed without pulling the boat out of the water.  However, in order to completely fix it we would need to be out of the water and there is no guarantee of how long it will take to get parts.  Once we are out of the water Jim and I can’t board the boat and they did not have a slip for us either.  So, screw the bow thrusters as they are a luxury not a necessity.  LOL!  As we traveled south we finally spotted a hint of red in the trees.

I went down to the salon and when I came up look who took my place.  LOL!!!  Jim says his new companion is quiet and agrees with everything he says.  I bet he is boring…….

I was interested in this huge coal electrical plant.  At first all we could see was the stack which was very large.  As we got closer they were using the crane to unload the coal from a barge and put it on a conveyor to the plant.  The process was nothing special but the size of the plant was amazing. Hard to capture in a picture.

I need to share with you what our oldest granddaughters, Josie and Bella are doing to track our adventure.  They have put together a map of the states that we are/will be traveling.  They then place a pin at the stops that we make.  So cool!!!!  We are very proud grandparents……

Made it to Alton, IL Marina which is just north of the Alton Bridge.  I decided to make a stop to do some laundry but there was a backup, so I took my bottle along and sat it out.  LOL!!

I did get the laundry cleaned the the bottle emptied.  All is good.
