Sunday - Tuesday, October 24-26, 2021 (Grand Rivers, KY (Green Turtle Bay Resort and Marina)

R&R was wonderful!!!!  I would recommend Green Turtle Bay Resort to anyone.  They have the amenities for any size family with or without a boat.  There are condos and small and large houses to rent with on sight restaurants and a golf cart shuttle to and from the town.

We went to the local grocery store and liquor store as it had been 3 weeks since buying groceries.  I became so domestic that I actually made homemade spaghetti and a salad for dinner Sunday night.  Yum!!!

Yes, I mentioned before that I make excuses for not cooking but I was hungry for homemade.  LOL!!!!

Given the fact that we are in bourbon/whiskey country Jim found New Riff a local Kentucky bourbon (103 proof) that most northerners would not hear of. It was very good!!!!

Here are some of the pictures of the resort and marina.

On Monday we celebrated my birthday at dinner with Mike and Chris Brown from Fairbault, MN at Patti’s 1880 Settlement.  We met the Brown’s online through the Great Looper’s Assn. website and had dinner with them in Red Wing, MN this summer.  The food and company was fantastic.  I had  a great birthday.

Yesterday the shuttle took us to the Thirsty Turtle for lunch and when our ride came back to pick us up we were greeted by the Mayor Tom Moodie of Grand Rivers, KY.  He gave us a guided tour and explanation of the history of the town and resort.  We learned so much as he talked about his great grandparents, grandparents and parents who have lived in Grand Rivers forever.  What a great person and so entertaining.  LOL!!!

I caught him……..  LOL!!!

Tomorrow starts another day on our adventure as we head down stream.
