Good morning Green Turtle Bay and Resort!!!

The boat “Our Plan” is our travel buddies for awhile.

We traveled south on Lake Barkley which looks like a very wide river.  The Kentucky Lake looks very similar to Lake Barkley but runs parallel to each other. We slipped through the Barkley Canal into the Kentucky Lake.  Do you remember the Lock and Dam that we had to avoid because of the barge collision?  Well, we are now on the back side of that lock and dam.  It is a beautiful sunny calm day.  The water is fairly clean and very deep (up to 65 feet).

What the hell is this?????  Jim says it must be leftovers from a time gone by.  Incredible how this building is just in the middle of a deep lake!!! I couldn’t find any information on it.  Google you disappointed me…

I couldn’t resist capturing this picture of the sun peaking through the clouds.

WE ARE IN TENNESSEE, BABY!!!!

We have been traveling approximately 7 hours and have reached our next stop, Pebble Isle Marina in Johnsville, TN.  Bill Parker take a look at these tiny little red and green cones (yes they look like cones) to guide us into the marina.  LOL!!!!  A little spot of colors on the tree.

The marina was ready to close (4:00 p.m.) so they tied us to the fuel dock knowing that we were going to leave early the next morning.  After securing everything, we heard laughter of fellow loopers having “docktails” so yes we joined them for some conversation.  It has been interesting as every day we run into fellow travelers that we started out with and then meeting new loopers.  The stories are funny, amazing and some of them a bit scary.  LOL!!!!  There is one vehicle for everyone to share and those that were at “docktails” before us wanted to use it, so we decided to stay at the boat and have dinner.  Side note:  when we asked the guys working the fuel dock where would be a good place to eat dinner, they responded: “Well, there’s only one restaurant and that is Mexican food”.  We are in Tennessee for god’s sake…….

  4. I guess when it is 65 feet deep it is ok to use cones instead of buoys.
