WE DID IT!!! WE MADE IT TO FLORIDA!!!

Staying a few days at The Wharf was exactly what we needed but we are excited to get to Florida.  It was a beautiful day to be on the water.  Look how calm the water is.

We started to see more dolphins but could never get a picture.  I decided that I would be smarter then them and just wait in preparation of a fantastic picture.  Here I am on the bow on dolphin watch.  Still no picture.  LOL!!!

It was exciting to catch a glimpse of the Gulf just past the sand of the ICW.

The homes and boats along the way were beautiful.  The boats were of all sizes and shapes.

However, just when you think “woe is me”, such as those thrusters and every other little thing that has broken and needs to be fixed, we really don’t have any problems compared to this boat owner.  Yikes!!!!

Sucks to be him!!!!!

The bridges are painted a bright blue where you can navigate through in the correct channel.  So smart because sometimes you aren’t sure which side of the cement pillar you should be on.  We need this on the river system.

It’s close to 4:00 and decided to call where our slip reservations are and find that we have no reservations.  (I am not going into details about that) Ok!!!! It’s getting close to dusk and we might need to anchor somewhere but Jim noticed a marina with one lone boat tied up.  As we get closer we noticed that the tug is a looper as well.  The boat owner noticed us and came out to help us tie to the dock.  Evidently he was also a derelict and had nowhere to go.  We will deal with the consequences tomorrow.  All hooked up to electricity and need to relax with a cocktail.

But while we are relaxing we hear bagpipes.  Our neighbor derelict was in the parking lot playing his pipes. This has happened several times!!!!

We decided to go for a little walk as it appeared that there were several restaurants near us.  Keep in mind, we know NOTHING about where we are, so we loaded my big purse with any and all small valuables that we have with us.  I was guarding it with my life.  LOL!

As we walked the immediate neighborhood, we only passed two gentlemen’s clubs.  LOL!!!!  In the end we stopped at The Gulf restaurant (not fancy by any means) and sat outside. Did I mention that it was a gorgeous night?

As we relaxed, we found ourselves hashing over the days events and sights, and like many other times we started laughing.

(Someone needs a hair cut)

We made it back to the boat unscathed and ready to watch TV for a short time.  Tomorrow we are only going a short ride to Destin, FL.  See you there……

  1. So glad you found someplace to stay for the night. I can’t believe you are in Florida! What a great trip. Hope you can get your bow thruster fixed while you are in Florida for a while. Have fun in Destin. I have been there a couple times for a conference and enjoy it.
