Tuesday, November 9, 2021 (Bobby’s Fish Camp (Silas, AL) - Tensaw River Anchorage)

Staying at Bobby’s Fish Camp was calm and quiet.  Everyone left the dock around 8:00 as soon as the fog lifted.  Our last lock is Coffeeville Lock and Dam which is just down stream.  There will be many of us so we plan to tie up with Karisma from Tennessee.  Another friendship was made.

We were hoping to pass through the last lock with Hallelujah who we have been rafting to in many locks but they decided to hang back and experience several more anchorages.  We will meet up with them somewhere else along the line.

On the Sunday post I left off with the #40 Belvill Lock and Dam.  Since that time we have traveled through #41 Heflin Lock and Dam, #42 Demopolis Lock and Dam and the last one, #43 Coffeeville Lock and Dam.

We mostly watched for alligators all day. There was chatter on the radio about sighting them but by the time we reached the location, the gater had already gone into the water. It is warm and green along the shoreline. In fact, many of the shorelines looked like a good sandy beach to be on.

This photo is complements of Ann and Doug from Thistle.

The dredging equipment is still getting bigger and bigger.

The day has been long (9.5 hours) and we are ready to reach the Tensaw River which is where a lot of us are going to anchorage.  It was a long river with no traffic and had more than enough room for any boats.  With it being only 25 feet it was easy to anchorage and no movement.

We were able to catch a few TV channels and ate dinner.  It was time to turn the generator off.  Looking forward to a good nights sleep.
