Wednesday, November 17, 2021 (Ft. Walton - Destin, FL)

The water tells it all as far as the depth is concerned!  The rivers don’t give us the different water color for the depth, but the gulf gives a clear image of where the shallow water exists.  Stay in that channel and the darker water.

I ask you, in the top picture what color is that buoy?  Thanks to the birds it’s white but it actually should be green.  LOL!

It only took us 45 minutes to cross the harbor into Destin, FL but it seems like a different world.  This is mega tourist heaven!

Got tied up to a slip that doesn’t really feel like a slip but it will be just fine for a couple of days.

Margaritaville is just outside our window.  I am so discombobulated when I see Christmas decorations and it’s 70 plus degrees.  This will be a holiday season that I will never forget.

It may be off season right now but there are still a lot of people (can’t really tell by these pictures).  We decided to have a late lunch, walk some more then go back to the boat.

And yes we did try a Bushwacker!!

This last picture was too funny not to post.  NO, Jim did not fall.  NO, Jim did not have too many drinks. Notice how far down the boat is from the dock as it is low tide.  This is the only way we can get back into the boat.  Tomorrow we are going to buy a small step ladder……. These stationary docks are nasty compared to the floating docks.

Did I mention that the high today is 75….. Sorry to those of you who are in the colder climate.  We are excited to explore for a couple of days so watch for more pictures.

  1. Enjoy the sun and warmth!!! The flurries have been swirling around in the blowing cold wind most of the day.

  2. Marty says the step ladder is a good investment. Tarpon Point is also stationary. He was just noticing that yesterday. You made us both laugh. Stay safe.
