Monday - Tuesday, December 6-7, 2021 (Pt. Tarpon Marina (Tarpon Springs, FL - Clearwater Harbor Marina, Clearwater, FL)
We love this boat! But for those of you reading my blog who owns a boat knows that there is always something………. I will leave it at that. Monday morning we arrived at ATW Marine Services to put the boat in the water, check the thrusters and make sure the generator was running. The generator you ask what’s up with that. Well, as we got into Tarpon Springs the generator would not stay running. The mechanic checked it out and corrected several little issues. Meanwhile, the air conditioner water discharge was plugged (all of a sudden) and wasn’t working. The mechanic knew right away that there must be a clogged hose. Sure enough he blew through the hose and dislodged the algae that was in it. My wonderful air conditioners have been working just fine ever since. LOL!!! The first trial use of the bow thrusters was that only one worked and the other didn’t. WHAT!!!!! The mechanic came back and it was only a wire that needed to be reconnected.
Well, by this time the day is shot and we are going to stay the night tied to the fuel dock and be on our way to Clearwater Tuesday morning.
Tuesday
We are finally leaving Tarpon Springs and the water depth was at a comfortable level and the river was like glass.
We are in the Intracoastal Waterway and the dolphins did not disappoint us. Two of them swim next to the boat jumping in and out of the water playing.
This cool bridge is the Dunedin Causeway Bridge. Once it was clear for us to go through we knew that some of the cars were cussing us as they had to stop for awhile waiting for us to pass.
We have arrived at Clearwater Harbor Marina and our new neighbors helped us get tied and settled. Of course, there were docktails and found that we had met several of them at Green Turtle Marina in Kentucky. Most of these loopers are leaving their boat to go home for the holidays at different dates. But it appears that someone will be at the marina while we are gone and will keep an eye on everything. Also the marina is secured so we feel comfortable leaving the boat.
I think that I will appreciate this temperature and the water much more after being home for Christmas. Jim and I are excited for the snow!
