Monday - Friday, February 14-18, 2022 (Legacy Harbour Marina) Ft. Myers, FL

We are on our way to Legacy Harbour Marina, Ft.Myers.  We have been looking forward to meeting up with Barefoot Jones again.  This is one of the bridges from Cape Coral to Ft.Myers.

The wind was gusty with white caps on the river, but I was amazed at the picture of our wake and the churning of the water.

The current was challenging getting into the slip but we did it!!!  You just never know what to expect on the water.  However, we decided to toast our success for getting it done.    LOL!!!!
The view from the dock is absolutely breathtaking……

Well…..  this was not what we expected!!!

Jim has been experiencing shortness of breath and a cough.  Of course, we tested for Covid numerous times as we were with our friends in Key West and always tested negative.  He finally was convinced to go to urgent care……………where within 30 minutes they identified that his oxygen level was very low and his heart beat was very rapid.  He was put on oxygen and transported to Lee Health Gulf Coast Medical Center.  I was able to follow the ambulance and was very grateful for one of the EMT’s that helped me with encouragement.  Wow…. What an experience thereafter.  Jim was in the hallway of the ER (of which I couldn’t see him) then when he was finally put into a room in the ER, I was overwhelmed with what I saw in the hallways.  People, it is aweful!!!!!

Skip forward, Jim was diagnosed with pneumonia, high heart rate and very low oxygen level.  Never, never would they test him for COVID!!!!!!   No wonder Florida is boasting about how the numbers are going down for COVID.  Just don’t test people!!!  Sorry I am angry about this crap!!! It’s all political and it sucks.

Finally, he was taken to an actual hospital room on the cardiac floor.  Much better!!!! The pneumonia is being treated with antibiotics and thankfully disappearing.  The biggest obstacle is getting the heart rate down.

Oxygen is off and IV’s are off except when antibiotics are given.  There are some signs of the heart rate going down slowly.

In the back of our minds we were still hoping that we could get to Miami for a few days for the boat show.  But our hopes were taken away when we were told that Jim is scheduled for a cardio catheter on Monday.  Oh well we need to find out what’s going on.  We will hang tight together….
