Friday - Wednesday, March 11-16, 2022 (Legacy Harbour Marina- Sanibel Island)
I was surprised that I hadn’t written in the blog for a week. We have been enjoying the marina and downtown Ft.Myers. Each evening we take a hike and find a different restaurant or I have even been cooking…….. LOL!!!!
On Friday, March 11, Brad and Laurie Fleener flew in from Minnesota. They arrived later in the evening so we just hung out and planned our days to come.
The weather on Saturday morning was beautiful to take a walk and stop at a fabulous farm to table restaurant to have breakfast and complete some errands.
The flowers are so beautiful!!!
As we were finishing our errands, the sky opened up and what a rain and wind storm. Brad and Laurie were hanging onto each other walking back to the boats. Since the docks are floating they were moving with the wind and so were we…….
After Laurie finally got back to the boat and was safe, she just wanted to sit. Note, she still had a grip on something somewhat stationary. LOL!!!
We all know pictures sometime don’t tell the correct story….
After waiting out the storm, Jim and I shared one of our favorite places for sunset cocktails, the Firestone.
Sunday - Monday, March 13-14, 2022 (Legacy Harbour Marina, Ft. Myers - Sanibel Island Marina)
On our way for a little trip to Sanibel. We all are looking forward to the beach and exploring the area.
It felt sooooo good to be back moving on the water. Note: first time in a long I had to put on long pants and long sleeves.
It was an easy ride and the marina is beautiful. Our view from the marina entrance. We can watch the traffic on the bridge from Ft. Myers Beach area to the island.
But you can’t forget the beach!!!
We visited the Sanibel Lighthouse at the most southern peak of the island.
It can’t get much better than this!!!! We had dinner at Gramma Dot’s at the marina and made the short walk back to the boat. Laurie holding on for dear life as the lines were being adjusted for low tide.
And we might have stopped at Mudbugs for a cold drink while waiting for our ride back to the marina.
